Introduction

You have all seen Flash animations. They are the cool moving animations on web sites. It really is not that difficult to get started making Flash animations. In fact, we are going to use Flash templates that are used by grade two and three students in England.

A template is a model or structure that is given to you and that you can use as your framework. For example, some of you have used Microsoft Publisher. It has many templates for newsletters, invitations and posters. You just have to add in your information.

In this assignment, you will get a Flash template that is based on tangrams. Tangrams are a set of shapes that can be made into many other shapes. The template you will have starts with a square and then makes a person. Your job is to change the template so that a different shape is made at the end.

Remember, what you investigate, design, plan and evaluate will be at least as important as what you create. So, document what you do in your Journal.

The Project

Projects in technology are based on the Design Cycle and the assessment is based on the Design Cycle as well. Therefore, you need to demonstrate that you have used the Design Cycle in your work. This time, unless I have spoken to you personally, you will submit your whole assignment at once. The date for it all is in the schedule at the end. You need to include the following in your Technology Journal[[file:/C:/Documents and Settings/Wayne/Desktop/Flash_Assignment_gr_6.doc#_ftn1|[1]]] (or Process Journal):

Investigate
Design
Plan
Create (Process/Daily Journal)
Evaluate

[[file:/C:/Documents and Settings/Wayne/Desktop/Flash_Assignment_gr_6.doc#_ftnref1|[1]]] Technology Journal, Daily Journal, Process Journal – they are all the same. Officially, the IB uses the term Process Journal, but I wanted to remind you that you can write in your journal DAILY!
